It is more annoying than it is anything else. Like an exhaust manifold gasket leak but under the right side dash only when I get on it real hard. I've often dismissed it but wondered what the hell it was. Vacuum related? Anyone else?

It is definitely inside the vehicle under passenger side dash. Sounds just like an exhaust manifold leak but inside the car. Has done this for several years.
You said rattling noise and then exhaust manifold leak. A/C box lives under the right side of the dashboard. It is hard to troubleshoot noises especially if it is under the dashboard. there are 100s of pieces that can come loose. I have a rattle that comes from the gear shifter under heavy acceleration. I removed the center console and could not see anything loose.
