These units have been swapped before by other people. Because of this, I assume the connectors are going to be the same. There are issues relating to the rear window defrost switch because its also on the unit newer type unit. I have not seen the the newer units before so I am not sure how this would work.
The Interior is colour coded. for example, mine is silver (code 7C44) make sure that this code matches your own.
I think Rainmaker will be of more help to you than I. He has had his console turned out and has experience of the connectors and the AC control unit itself

Will 98 climate control plug right into a 95 wiring harness? You know the long single unit from the 3 individual units?
And is the "tan" from a 98 the same interior "tan" as a 95?
