I have a 2005 C320. The other day, I suddenly could not power on my radio. The screen is blank and the CD slot won't take a CD either. It was working fine all along. All the other electrical items in the dashboard and everywhere else are working fine. This is the original radio that came with the car when i got it ( brand new). I took it to my Mercedes dealer thinking it might be a quick check and quick fix and they want me to leave the car so they can run all these tests and take the radio out if need be. I am afraid they will say it's a big cost and maybe it really isn't. Can someone advise me as to what I should check first to trouble shoot the problem? I reviewed the big manual and it does not give that information. Could it be a fuse? Where is the fuse box for the radio and what would a bad fuse look like? Thank you kindly.

Most of the MB HUs also have a fuse in the back of the HU, obviously you have to slide out the unit to check/replace it.

Radio Wonʻt Power On

Not sure of all possibilities but mine does the same thing sometimes. Try powering the radio off and then turn off the ignition. Give it a few seconds and restart the car and then retry the radio. Sometimes this works for mine. Seems like a computer glitch, in the sense that the radio start-up sequence doesnʻt fully finish - therefore the radio doesnʻt come on-line.

IF THIS DOES NOT WORK, disconnect the positive battery terminal completely. Then reconnect the positive terminal - THIS DOES BRING IT BACK EVERY TIME for mine! You may have to re-enter your radio security code afterwards but thatʻs the sure fix for me.

Dealership also gave me several possibilities including replacing the entire radio - all were over-kill in my opinion - itʻs only a radio, come on!!!

Option 2 worked perfect for me

I tried disconnecting the positive battery terminal, then reconnected it again and radio starts working.

Command reset by removing fuses 100 & 147 worked like a charm on my 2013 ML63 AMG. Waited 15 minutes. Put them back in. Bang. All better.

Welcome to the forum @JJ_2013ML63 - please take a moment to read the information on the link below. It explains how to update your user profile so that your car's details and your location appear on each post below your avatar. This is good information for others to know when trying to help. It also has good information about how the forums are organized and how to use the search feature:

Those fuses will have no relationship to the W203 - it's a totally different vehicle from your W166.
