Hi this morning my car was covered in frost so i put the heated rear window.The strange thing is that when the rear heated window is on the radio stays on but losses station and hissing coming from the speakers,any ideas?

I have the same issue, and always have since I got my ML. I don't actually lose the station. I just get a little interference if I turn on the rear defroster with the radio on. It doesn't happen if I'm listening to a CD. I always assumed it was related to the fact that the radio antenna is in the rear glass.

That is not normal. We have the used the rear defroster every winter for 13 years and it never affect AM or FM reception.
I do not know what would be causing it. This is just a guess, but the coax that is at the signal amplifier in the tailgate my be damaged or the signal amplifier itself may have a problem.

I vote that it is normal for some interference. The 99 ML I had would completely kill the radio reception with defroster on. The 2002 is much better but still get interference.
