Radio Code help Please!!!!

Hey there,

I have been viewing the forums and am so surprised at the amount of people who have the same problems with radio codes!

Well, recently replaced the battery in our SLK230k and completely forgot about protecting the radio memory and of course, it now wants the code of which I can't find anywhere in the owner's manual and there is no damn security card which the audio manual speaks of.

Please can you provide me with some code (and how to input it!):
VIN: WDB1704472F057889
MB SLK230 Kompressor 1998
Was bought from Diesel Motors in Western Australia, then taken to South Australia and now we have it in Queensland, where Grand Motors service it but wouldn't provide a radio code because they wanted us to send a form to some company that would charge $20 for the code, yet they've given us the code before but stupidly we didn't write it down somewhere that we can easily find it!

We are selling the car to an older couple this week and desperately want the radio to work.........I have a code which I think could work but it has a number 8 in it and the radio only goes up to number 6??

Any help on the code and how to input would be so damn appreciated!

email: [email protected]

Many many regards and thanks!

If you would post (or PM) the likely code you have, it would be reasonable to reply YES or NO.
Nope......no one can help me?? Thought so.....guess need to fax the request form to Eurovox and pay to get the stupid code...........great
I didn't understand first that this is not an OEM radio. The car did not come with a radio from the factory. In this case it is only the radio manufacturer who can help. If you don't know how to enter the code you expect being the correct one, google for a user manual and it should be explained. The most typical approach is that you press the number one preset button as many times as necessary to get the correct digit shown and continue for the rest. The ack button can be almost anything.
All good mate, it took a million phone calls to Mercedes and eventually they gave me the code, which I will try in the morning to see if it works........I was a little irritated that all this dealer had to do was check their main computer and our local dealer couldn't be bothered doing that for us.......so for people out there, Grand Motors Mercedes Benz on the Gold Coast, Australia, is not exactly great at helping you out.......Diesel Motors in Western Australia on the other hand is super helpful and were able to sort it out within 10 minutes!! I believe the unit is an OEM radio, but this one also comes with a Sony 10 stacker unit in the boot (which is giving me error codes as well the bitch!). Cheers for help however!
According to the data card, the car did not come with a radio from the factory (I hope I'm not confusing VIN numbers). It can be an OEM radio but if it did not come from the factory, then obtaining the security code is more difficult for the workshop. Obviously some give up if the first option does not work.

Hopefully you got the correct code and get the radio up and running.
