Many thanks to the BenzWorld R129 community for your wonderful contributions.

Due to the number of custom exhaust discussions over the years, some relevant posts may have been missed.
Please feel free to contact me through PM with any additional recommendations or requests.

Best Regards, Ken

You can only hear it when you step on it. I did listen for where the "white noise" comes from on vid. The Silver SL has the same white noise on video. It is mostly an exaggerated combination of wind, tires, and the inverter fan I forgot to turn off, mostly tires. Dirty camera lens, sorry. I may not have floored it, I forget.

copied from BWOT

(It has straight pipe where the cat was, still has muffler and resonator)

Re: x-pipe + cat-cons

Hi guys,

I wanted to share some pictures of what I wanted to upgrade/modify on my existing exhaust system. the stainless steel x-pipe is a 2.25 inch diameter (in and out) made by Magnaflow, and the 200 cell count metal spun stainless steel catalytic converters are from Verocious, and I had also had the exhaust bung for a wide range air fuel gauge from Innovate Motorsports fitted, together with that of the original oxygen sensor.

Also, was able to have custom made 2.75 inch diameter exhaust gaskets, which will be used for the flanges of the rear muffler.

More pics to follow, time and work permitting, so please bear with me, with regards to this project of mine

Hi Ken,

The "next stop" would be sourcing a used R129 AMG rear muffler, in good condition of course. :), I even asked Morris for help with Taiwan ebay, however, they only had listings for the Lorinser muffler.

I plan to PM "abiby" for tips again on scrolling Japanese ebay.

:D...having fits of "o/c" again, hahaha!

I'll keep an eye out for you Chicky, but from my understanding these R129 specific AMG mufflers are not easy to come across second hand and are very rare.

They do come up on eBay Germany occasionally here and there, but for some reason so many German eBay vendors refuse shipping to other countries. :(

Hi Ken,
I agree with your statement about the sellers at ebay.de, however, I was able to meet a seller, and all I have to do is send him the links of the items that I am interested in, then he does the negotiating for me. He charges me a fee (for his time, shipping to him and PayPal fees), if I am amenable, he will purchase.
I have instructed him to do several purchases, and actually both of us are in the process of "seeing" if the freight forwarding company that we used, is reliable. The 1st box was already sent out, and is scheduled to arrive Manila before the end of December.
Here are some of the things that he has bought for me:

He's also kind enough to take pictures of the items, when they arrive at his house.

Keeping my fingers crossed, that the shipping company is reliable.

Congratulations on your new German connection, job well done Chicky and wishing you all the best of luck brother!
