I have had an intermittent starting problem with my 300 24v. I have eliminated the switch and the OVP so the next suspect is the MAS.

I have bought a module on ebay which was advertised as suitable for all R129 models. Checking the part numbers show that the one I have bought is 011 545 85 32 and is for a 500, whereas my old unit is 011 545 83 32.

What is the practical difference between them and would the 500 unit work on my 300 24v?

The module was cheap and warranted so i don't have a problem if it isn't suitable because i can just re sell it.

They are different engines, 500 is a V8 the other 300 is a straight 6.

I know they are different engines ... That's why I'm asking the question.

If the question is if they are the same.
The answer is NO, sell it.
They don't interchange.

You said that you HAD....
If you still have the problem, I would look more on the pump condition.

Regards,
aam.
