I’ve recently re-imported a 1987 300SL back from the USA which originally was exported in 1989.
Can anyone tell me which parts of a European headlamp assembly give the LHD/RHD dipped pattern. I know the glass is different but not sure what else.

Hi Andy, not sure if there are any differences other than glass, that said your best bet is to review / compare the assembly by using one of EPC systems like this one https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/epc/mercedes/ - navigate to the relevant lamp section and check for differences between LHD and RHD cars.

Thanks for the information and link, they appear to only show part numbers for LHD vehicles but I found the RHD parts on the SL shop site. It looks like the glass and reflectors combined are required.
Thanks again.

Glad you got sorted Andy. I think the reflectors are no longer available from MB so it's either aftermarket or second hand units, neither of which are cheap I'm afraid.
