I recently purchased an 89 560SL. There are several items that I am looking to purchase, I am looking for some advise on the best product and where to find it.
1. Hardtop hoist: I have looked through this site and can't really find a good recommendation. Any recommendations?
2. Wiper Blades: Mine have been changed out to a black pair...it's drivin me nuts, it looks so wrong. Any recommendations on the best place to get?
3. Tires: It looks like there is only one size that fits this car? Recommendations on the best ones?

Where is the best place to get genuine Mercedes Benz parts?
New to all of this, I may not be looking in the proper places.
Please forgive my ignorance.

Thank you

Hoist: My recommendation is a ratchet manual crank type hoist. An electric hoist can be harder to control and I think you will eventually gouge your tonneau with it. In either case, it is much safer for your paint to make it a two-person job.
Do not store it on the hoist because of potential distortion. The cart works best for storage. I made one out of a furniture dolly and some scrap lumber.

Wiper blades: How very anal of you! Scour the junkyards if it is important.

Tires: I changed to 16" wheels for that very reason. Just make sure that the total tire + wheel combination remains the same to avoid speedo error.

You should be able to edit the post.

I use a Harbor Freight electric hoist alone with no problem.

Wipers? Also check flea bay.

OE parts can be purchased online from some Mercedes Dealers. It helps to know the part numbers. You can look them up in the EPC. There are several free versions available on line.

Shipping is a bit pricey but the SL Shop in the UK is a good resource. They have new silver wipers etc. Makes more sense to do as part of a larger order. For other more common parts usually far cheaper from some of the larger US online suppliers such as ECS or AutohausAZ.
On tires I’ve been happy with Michelin summer tires (can’t remember the exact model).
Good luck

Thank you for the help on this. I found the wipers on E-Bay and am still deciding which hoist I should get.
