Questions regarding headrests and trunk

hey Everyone,

I went to take a look at our car in the bodyshop, and I put the rear headrests down using the button in the front. My question is, how do you get them back up? I pressed the button again, but nothing happened. It could be that the battery was too weak to put the headrests back up . . . do the headrests come back up electronically?

Also, I had some problems opening the trunk. I put the key in the keyhole, and turned it so that the LED flashed green. Now, how do you actually OPEN the trunk?

Thanks for your help!

Unless you have rear reclining seats, the headrests can only be lowered with the dash button. To raise the headrest you need to do it the old fashion way, manually.

After you unlock the trunk, simply push the lock in and the truk will open.

I tried to manually put the headrests back up, but I guess I did not do it right . . .

Do you just pull them back up? Should they click into place?

Thanks!

On the new S-Classes the headrests only come up when rear passenger seatbelt is fasened. This only occurs when four place seating is present. The headrest drop switch is only put near the driver for the odd shenannigan and for ease of viewing out back winshield.
Headrests

Unless you have the electric rear seat bench or individual, they are vacum operated not electric. They go down but not up, you have to do that manually, the "SE" is not the deluxe sedan, the 500 and 600 SEL had other standard options. Push the round button where you inserted the key, the lid should release

OK . . . I've gathered that it must be done manually, but how exactly is this done? Will it click in place? I tried to put the headrests back up manually, but they wouldn't stay.

It's funny that I didn't think of that . . . I has trying to find a button above the license plate (like on the BMWs) . . .

Thanks!

They will click back into position. Its likely that you are not pulling them forward enough. I doubt that the locking mechanism is broken its unlikely that they both would be broken.

Yeah, the headrests do click back into position. It does take a pretty good tug though. . .
