So I have decided I am going to buy either a Lexus ES350 hybrid, the C350 coupe, or an E class. I drove a BMW 5 series for about 36 hours combined drive time and it just did not feel like it was worth $50k, I don't see how it competes with the E class.

Anyway, important questions, please answer all of them as the dealer doesn't seem clear and gives me the run around:

Can I get projector headlights and HID's on the new C coupe?

What is the LONGEST possible warranty I can get on a new car? What about on a CPO? If the CPO warranty is better, am I better off buying a 2013 with 4000 miles on it?

How much is the warranty?

How much is the oil change going to run me, can I get it changed at a Victory Lane without voiding the warranty?

How much will the cheapest tires run me?

What are the biggest differences (appearance wise) between the C coupe and the coupes that cost $60-70k?

What is the longest loan period I can get, the local dealer told me 6 years?

Thanks

Try going to the dealership? they were very helpful with all my questions and I test drove the C350 (looking to buy that car too) and was able to ask them these sort of questions. Although I did not ask these questions you asked above.

Quiet impressive new MB owners trying to save $ on MB :) I believe there is company called Hundai out there with perfect feet on both of your concerns. Drive free for year or something :)

Not really a fan of overpaying for anything. If MB does some special voodoo with the car for the $300+ I'm told they charge for the oil change that I can't do myself, then I guess I'll go there. Otherwise, what's the point? As for the tires, I'm never a fan of bottom of the barrel tires but I was hoping to get a min/max ballpark for what I could expect to pay. I didn't find it necessary to over explain my question.

Obviously you tried to save money when you bought your MB as well, that is a C class in your profile isn't it?

Ouch. If it's a C-class AMG, does that imply that he's saving money when he bought it? And the E-class is only ~10K more, so it's more on the driving feel difference between the two.

And to answer some of your questions:

Can I get projector headlights and HID's on the new C coupe?
Yes.

What is the LONGEST possible warranty I can get on a new car?
It's 5 years / 50K miles. And then you can add on extended warranty. Up to additional 3/5 years or some miles, can't remember exactly.

What about on a CPO? If the CPO warranty is better, am I better off buying a 2013 with 4000 miles on it?
No idea. Not really a fan of buying something that's been used by someone else. God knows what the previous owner has done to/inside the car.

How much is the warranty?
The standard should be included. Can't remember for the extended.

How much is the oil change going to run me, can I get it changed at a Victory Lane without voiding the warranty?
I just did my 10K Service A and the dealer charged me ~$250. I don't think changing oil somewhere else voids your warranty. The reason I went to the dealer was so that when I'm selling the car, I can say, it has always been serviced at the dealer. It gives a better peace of mind to your potential buyer than saying "it's serviced at Victory Lane that does the same thing for half the price".

How much will the cheapest tires run me?
No idea, but I wouldn't buy for the cheapest for tires just for the sake of saving. Safety is more valuable that whatever you saved.

What are the biggest differences (appearance wise) between the C coupe and the coupes that cost $60-70k?
What do you mean by "the coupes that cost $60-70k"? If it's the same C-class, then it's bigger engine and/or more options.

What is the longest loan period I can get, the local dealer told me 6 years?
That depends on your financial institution. Ask them. MBFS does 6 years financing.

Thank you for actually answering my question. The reason I ask about CPO vs new and warranty is because I bought a Toyota two years ago. Ironically with Toyota, you actually get a BETTER warranty (125k/8 years) buying a CPO than you do buying a new (36k/3 years). I was told Lexus was the same, so I was wondering if MB was similar. When I complained about the fact that I was better off warranty-wise buying a CPO they told me the longer warranty was to make people more comfortable buying a car with 50k miles on it. I bought a car with 12k miles on it, so it seemed like a much better deal than buying a new car (with 12k less miles) since a new car would give me 36k miles of warranty, but the CPO I bought would give me 113k miles of warranty.

That is what I am suggesting, for people who is not fan of this or that -> Hundai is a perfect feet. Why not? Think about, everything cheap! Tires could be replaced when they are bold (who cares?) and warranty is forever :) Oil change $19.99 with cheapest oil you could find. Why do you need MB could you please explain? Why do you need to care that you need to use synthetic oil which is mostly not even for sale in US stores?

This is car I like and as example I just spent on winter/summer tires sets around $2K and for last oil change I paid $120 ... why do you need such expense? :)

Since English doesn't seem to be your first language I'll give you a pass lol

In your other thread you attacked a guy with a 740 for asking about gas mileage... pretty sure they make a hybrid S class lol

I want a MB because it's an MB. It's just my favorite car, always has been. I'm simply trying to find the most cost effective way to own it.

$120 isn't bad, I pay $60 now and I don't even drive an MB yet. I was expecting $300.

Attack???? :) Are you under attack????? Are you looking for help from someone? Dude you are not, i am just interesting in logic of someone who is cheap but trying to get badge with MB. I personally prefer to contribute to the economy not just consume as probably you are. I am sure MB is wrong option to you to save $. I like this brand and car as technology not badge to show as you. Enjoy!

MB warranty is 4/50.

Thank you to everyone who gave me input (even you Breitling). It turns out because I have USAA I get a $4000-$6000 discount on any Mercedes, so I will either get an SLK, ML350, or E350. I also found out I can get up to 100k miles on a warranty which is good enough I guess.

Thanks again guys, can't wait to get my MB!!!
