It sounds like you didn't get any kind of tutorial before or after the purchase.
1. I have the official softcopy of the owner's manual in Adobe .pdf format. I downloaded it from mbusa.com, but I had to sign up for Owners Online to get it. Unfortunately, I can't e-mail it because it's 27MB.
2. Use the red button in the center console that is sort-of shaped like a roof. Pull it back and hold it to make the roof go down. If it flashes at you, then you probably don't have the divider in the trunk pulled out.
3. The little round knob in the center console is for adjusting the mirrors. Use it like a joystick.
