Analog up till 1994 I believe. Car looks nice though.

Replacement clusters came with the digital odometer & trip and were normally programmed by dealer to original cluster mileage.

From what I've read, the originals failed pretty regularly.

O.K. I finally see what you mean. Older ones had little dials that moved gradually. I even forgot about them.
Also, I see the possible problem. Maybe his indy did it or even a DIY. You'd want to get some sort of documentation.
Good thing to remember.

First time I've noticed the difference and thought about it.
I like the rolly type with the wheels much better, and simple black in white is cool.

Do the digital work off the same plastic gear on the trans.

For Europe digital was introduced mid ’93, not sure about the year for the US though....
As Elbeik said it could be ’94.
A replacement analog/digital is possible but would be very substantial, it also means that some of the wiring would have to be renewed.
If so it sure would cost a lot of $$$ incl programming

From browsing AutoTrader pictures it seems that some '94s were digital, some were analog. All '95s were digital, and I saw a '92 that was. '92s & '93s were analog.
I didn't look at nearly all of any year.
