I had questions on after market parts for my 2000 ML55 in terms of quality and reliability.
I have to replace the center bearing support on the universal shaft,
left front outer tie rod, and front left inner boot for the CV joint.
The dealer is quite expensive for all the parts above.
Was wondering what brands of after market parts I should avoid?
Is it OK to buy the whole axle assembly which seems to be a lot cheaper
than buying the boot itself, if so what brand?
Please advise
Thanks and happy thanksgiving to all.

you dont have to pay retail at the dealer for OEM parts. Sites like autohausaz and others will have the same parts cheaper... sometimes a lot cheaper.

the centre support bearing above is for the wrong car.
you want, 1634100010 , more like 80$

Your Parts Search Returned 1 Part(s)

you dont want to buy the cheapest part you can find. there are pros and cons of getting the dealer parts. autohausaz is not always the cheapet but stuff seems to be reasonable quality.

Join Mercedes Benz Club of America (MBCA) and the magazine (The Star) has numerous ads for off-price dealers willing to sell genuine OEM parts at wholesale.

Highly recommended.
