How much lower will the car be with the thinnest spring shims that the dealer sells?<br>

Also, I wondered if the '55 is lower than the 430 from the factory?<br>

The 55 has AMG springs made by Eibach so the answer is yes, it is a bit lower....

Spring pads (shims) give minimal drop, even with the thinnest one (1 pt pad). It gives about a few mm drop maybe 1/2 inch or less. H&R has now released sport springs for the 55 if you want and drops about 1.4' The labor to have the pads changed is same as that when you change the spring so I don't think it would be worth it if you're planning on just that.

Does AMG only use Eibach springs? I wondered who made the AMG's!

Well the AMG springs are sub-contracted to Eibach, the OBC is made by Siemens, among other things.
