question about AMG wheels for '92 500 SEL

Does anyone know if 18X8 et31 and 18X9 et35 will fit a '92 500SEL without modifications? The guy I bought the wheels from said they would, but I think these wheels are for the R129 style SL. Any help would be appreciated.
