My 2006 R350 has 26,000 miles and standard 17inch wheels.
I love the look of new 08's with 5spoke 18inch wheels!

Anyone know will I ruin the ride and performance by switching to 18inch wheels this late in the game on 2 year old car?

Thanks.

You will hardly feel the different from 17" to 18" will. There are still alot of sidewall.
I agree, will be no problem.

I have winter tires on 17" wheels and summer tires on 19" wheels. Very litle difference in road feel or ride between the two. The 17" tires soak up a little more of the road - I don't think you'd feel much difference with 18".

I agree.
I have 18" wheels on my 2008 and the ride is superb comfortable and also good handling in the corner.

I went from 17" to 19" with a OEM sized tire without a negative ride effect, on my ML350. Of course tire sizing and selection is important.
