Puting 17" or 18" wheels on a w123 possible?

Hello again, I have another question? Is it possible to put 17" or 18" wheels on a w123 mercedes. Is the wheel weld big enough for it? and can you have it done if the car is lowered. I'm looking into lowering the car aswell. I'm trying to find the possibilities of customizing a w123, in what is and what is not possible to do to one. Can I only put 16" wheels on the mercedes? Thanks again,

rims

yea you can fit those 16's on there, cause we got stock 15s and you can fit up to 20 i think. Someone seen a guy with 22s on one at a show but i have no clue for sure. You gotta measure the tire wheel.
17'S FROM WHEEL EXCHANGE ON EBAY

Off of ebay i purchased a set of 17 inch monoblock styled wheels 5X112 bolt pattern AT 25MM offset. bolted on no problems, no hitting or anything.THEY LOOK SHARP. I would say that they are a bit on the heavy side, but our cars are not really fast anyway. I also dropped it 2" and thats working pretty well, i hit the fender twic in a turn at low speed in Cleveland Ohio, any one who has been there will understand. Good Luck!
oh yeah, the drop killed my outer front tire, i need to adjust the eccentric pin this winter, id do that first if i was to do it again! ha!

I would go stock Mercedes 15 inch later alloys with
and Z-rated tires so it doesn't look ghetto. Z's are not made for 14 inch. Awhile back I did the math on
Tirerack's site and concluded I can get within a small fraction of and inch for width and diameter on 65 series tires on a 123.

Sorry if I have offended anyone with the Ghetto comment, and might even like the car and ask questions
if everything well done and coordinated. No small task customizing a 123 as Mercedes really did it right.

I have 205/65VR15 Toyo TPT's on 126 Chassis wheels and it looks good. I may sell the tires when I mount the 195/65R15 Dunlop Winter Sports and replace the Toyo's in the spring with something in a 215/60R15.... Anyone interested in the Toyo's, shoot me a message. The rears are like new, the fronts are about 30% worn. $100 for the 4 tires plus shipping if you aren't local to north Jersey..
17s and a 45mm drop

Hello
working with the w123 is tuff business i wont lie. but owning mine for seven years ive done what little i could while at school in cleveland and the car living in buffalo the whole time. with ALOT of help from my father. heres a small list....install of ford engine and transmission with efi (car was bought by me when i was 15 with a motor that spun her mains-too costly to repair), working on install of supercharger with intercooler and gauges, custom white gauges, install of volt and air fuel gauges, hand carved one off fiberglass body kit, 17 monoblock style wheels, all new suspension with upgrades, 45mm drop from eurocarparts.com, and a bunch of other things too.(i know its not a fast car-it never will be, and i dont pretend that it is, i just like the body stlye and try to work with it.)
i welcome any comments if you want pictures let me [email protected]

RE: Puting 17" or 18" wheels on a w123 possible?

[:(]
i dont have any wheels that i would want on mine, that is why they are not on it. i do have a set of 15s with oem tires, they are the mb 98ish 5 spoke type, and the oem 14" multi holes. i bought these 17s off of ebay brand new, just make sure the et is 25. they have hit the fender in a tight turn with bump twice (im lowered too) and they are a bit heavy, but our cars are not performers.
