I picked up a 93 190e 2.6 auto with 72k on the clock. I love driving this car!! But I have a few questions.
1.How do you remove the front interior door panel. The passenger side has a rattle when closing the door that I'd like to remedy. Will also give me a chance to see exactly what my options are for speakers.
2. Is the firm shifts normal for this car. I realize that firm shifts will usually make the tranny last longer. Less slipping less heat.
3. With the firm shifts I've noticed some drive line slap. Anybody know the maximum amount of allowable driveline slap.
4.What is right behind the distributor that could be leaking oil. I have a slow leak.

Does MB leave a build sheet in these cars anywhere, like under the rear seat?

I have a cdrom on the way, But I have tommorrow off and would like to get started on maintenance.

TIA very much!
Dan

to get the door panel open, you will have to first have to look the door handle ends(higher end), there should be plastic cap there. then remove the cap. there should be a nut behind the plastic cap. rermove the nut. then therer should be a metal rod which is hooked onto the door apening handle.. try to squese the hook out of the handle.(use your own creativity). if you have a whindable window remove thewinder by sliding the plastic piece out. after that pull the winder out.

once you have finished all that. slowly pull the whole panel up slowly. DO NOT BE IMPATIENT AS YOU HAVE COME ALL THIS WAY SUCSESSFULLY. then you should be all right now. good luck. have done this prosidier close to 10 times as i to have a presistant rattling probelm. finally i found out that the rarttling has been coming from the sun roof
