After opinions on these guys this is the first one and will be fitting them to new light infills and will probably be done in chrome. Would be happy to make more if anyone is interested. The ones I make for myself will be amber indicators. There seems to be nothing out there that fits our trucks unless you go for the whole headlight.

I know this may be unpopular to say but it just looks a little too flash for me. I think the ML should look tough and heavy duty, which may be why I prefer the 163 over the newer ones with regards to looks.

Amazing that you made those though! Just not for me

I value your opinion. Thanks it helps when you have people with different views on things sometimes you can make a change for the better.

It is a 99 430 not that it much looks like it anymore.

Undoubtedly clever, but since you ask I think that anything that clearly looks like its been "stuck on" cheapens the car's look.

The test for me ..... "if the MB designers wanted to add a strip of LEDs to the front corners would they do it like that ... complete with stick on chrome arrow ends?" No - I am sure they wouldn't - it gets no style cues from anywhere else on the car and thus looks too much like an aftermarket accessory.

That said, I do think the under light infill lends itself to the addition of LED lights but it needs to be done with taste. Perhaps lose the chrome arrow and recess the LED strip into a horizontal groove (looks more aggressive rather than "pretty"), or hide the LED strip behind blackened acrylic so the LEDs can only be seen when they flash. Involves more work, but to me that's the way the MB designers would do it if they were to.

Sorry to be brutally honest. :)

Fair comments rjv but without spending thousands on dies and moulding ,just trying to freshen the look of the old girl with what is available , I know what your saying and I know how IDE like it to look but you have be realistic on how much you spend. When I've already spent more than its worth. It does look better without the chrome arrow so I like you being brutally honest any comment a good one. I think in a few years there won't be any incandescent bulbs on any new cars LED technology has come a long way in the last 10 years.

I'm not going to comment on whether or not I'd like something like this on my ML, because it's a personal opinion. (Besides, that's not what you asked for).
You asked for this:
pros: looks clean, nice, flush. Looks good.
What I'd do: blend the LED's housing in with the white for that one-piece "stock" look.

What I REALLY like: Those FOGS! :)

Thanks CGL I hear you on the white the chrome will sort of go nowhere as it might look ok from the front it looks no good from the side, colour coded will look better I agree.

The 2014 S-class is the first car to be built with no bulbs! All LEDs!

I think it looks good, you did a good job with it. While I am not sure I would use them - I think it looks SO MUCH better than the versions added in to the light assemblies.
