It really should not require adjustment. You might need to check your filters etc. You might have had a regulator spring or something fail. Or, as always it is just as likely as a gas motor to have a typical failure such as bent walves etc.

Sounds funny I kow, but check your radiator. The regulator is kept from freezeing in some units by the radiator fluid passiong through it. U1450
