Here's my 560E, UK V8 guru Martin Ball delivered the car having finished it off to Janspeed, a custom exhaust specialist. Here's a video minus the backbox....

YouTube - W123 230E V8 conversion

For the build-up, check out the latest issue of Practical Classics magazine and the three parts following on.

I hope you like it, it sure does rumble...

Man, that'd be a dream. I can't image how fun that thing must be...

You mind if I ask how much that was around? This would be something I'd to do before i pass on, either that or before gas runs out!

I'd just love to find a Mosselmann turbo for the 300SL I6.

Just to keep the weight down.

The car is really nice, even if it is a gasser :p

Apparently the Merc v8s can sound better than ford, holden and chev v8s with the right exhaust behind it, can't wait to get one in the coupe.

I reckon with my current exhaust setup with a 560 motor in the coupe it will sound sinister :D

Matt, saw your car in Practical Classics, I was at Barnes and Nobles, and I knew they always had something on the w123. Turned to page 103, and saw a familiar site. Cost 10 bucks here since its an English Magazine. Still bought it though! Great conversion!

No burnouts for me - I leave that to the Honda boys. I'm still experimenting with driveshafts, too...
What are you using for drive shafts now? Stockers? What kind of rear diff?

Sorry for the late reply.

I'm still on stocker 'shafts - I'll see how I get along with them for now.

The diff' is from a W126, running a 2.24 ratio.

Glad you liked the mag Sean. It looks pretty in the pics but it's still far from road legal :(
