I got new rear subframe bushings to my 500SEL. The problem is the movement of the subframe during the process and therefore I cant get the main bolt to the threads.
The car is on the jack´s and there are limited space under the car. Do i have to just force the subframe back or is there something else I should do?
You can try and manipulate the subframe by using a smaller floor jack to bring it closer. Just go slowly and carefully until you have it close enough to have the bolt "bite". Of course you need to watch for cross threading as well.
Maybe try and unload the rear suspension completely by jacking up the rear with a floor jack via the differential housing, Thus have the front suspended by the jack stands evenly, then by jacking up/lowering the rear you should be able to bring the subframe close and have the bolt aligned. It looks like you have some "twisting" going on in the chassis perhaps.
