I have a 2000 S430 with 101,000 miles.. I purchased it in 2005 with 45k miles on it for $31,000. It kills me that it's only worth about $8k now. Once the new body style of a vehicle comes out you get killed.
2000 S430, bought it in March 2009 with full books & records for $15,000 at 53,000 miles, no problems then or since, just routine maintenance & I replaced the 10 y.o. plugs. Now at 61,500 miles. Was a geezer to geezer sale & I think the price was fair.
These results won't mean much unless we include when the car was purchased. For instance-In 2005 I paid $31,000 for my 2000 S430. Stock paid $5000 for his 2000 which is grand larceny if he got it in 2005 but if he purchased it in 2010 it's about right. Ya dig?
OK, 2001 S600 w/ 57K miles all the good stuff w/ lorinser wheels, purchased June 2009 S17.5K. Now has 65K, new lorinser wheels & tires, lorinser roof spoiler and rear trunk wing, new coil pack ($650) and new ABC pump installed ($1200), doubt I would come close to breaking even if sold today. KBB $21K. everyone knows, KBB value is worth nothing..................but, I love the car! much better than my C43 AMG.
