Hello!

So I just waxed my 300SE (1991, M104.990 722.368 trans) and wanted to go for a cruise and guess what - pressed the gas and nothing happens. Car is just rolling in DRIVE and no response from throttle pedal. Got back home imidetly. Put it N, the same. If you pressed the pedal really hard it went slowly up to 1.5K RPM. Switched the car off, restarted, revs up like it should.

What could be the fault, where I should look now?

P.S. after buying car, took it to mechanic. He said wiring has been done and engine and all the components are good...

Are you in the right forum? This is for 140 owners.
OP stated "91 300SE" In other parts of the world, not in the US, there are such things as 1991 w140s.
The US received the cars built after July 1991 as model year 92 - the early SE (SWB) and SEL (LWB).

The symptoms described point at faulty EGAS module. Also worth checking - throttle linkage cable.

Could also be a bad throttle body. From the symptoms, it went into limp mode. The only way to know for sure is to do a scan and pull codes with either Star diagnostics, or a blink code reader.
