Maybe this is the future. Rather than watch the values of our beloved W140 plummet to zero, we remodel in the 21st century style, and voila, new Benz (or what looks like one) for not much bucks. It's also an environmental plus as we have reused something 'old' by the merest of changes.

The W221 range starts at S350 and up - the S320 was phased out.

To be honest - I'm looking forward to the day I can buy a replacement 'electric' engine that just drops in - the fact fossil fueled transport is on the way out is a horrid thought - I love what it will do for the environment, but we will lose so many classic vehicles :crybaby2:

Why not just purchase a W221?

Lord knows even the very best W140's are only in the 20-25k range and that's a very low km late model S-500 or S-600, so why do folks wish to chop them to bits.

Still think the W-140's are the most handsome looking blend of technology and physical appeal. Every sedan since just makes me numb. What are these people thinking? Matter of taste, of course, but I don't get it.

You know, the front end looks like decent quality work, but the trunk is just an abomination. Quasimodo comes to mind. Are those actual W221 panels, hood, and trunk lid?

I was thinking that myself - he seems to have sunk a bit of money in to the front end but the rear - just looks like the roof off the tardis.

I just cant comprehend why anyone would want to make their 140 look like a cheaper w221. IMO the 140 is a much better looking model, more upmarket and far classier. I wonder if anyone has come up with the idea of fabricating body panels from a 140 onto a w221 in order to make it look like a propper benz!
