With my 1993 SL 500 I've been having a few problems lately with engine cut outs, ASR lights showing, LHM cutting in etc.
If other members experience these problems I can only recommend reading the blue sticky and following the links on this subject.
Following Bob Terry's advice using just a simple LED I've identified and corrected the faults and cleared the many stored fault codes.
If you have to go to the stealer be very confident and tell them which persistent fault code you have identified, this will put you at the advantage of knowing what is at fault and not at the mercy of a thorough expensive diagnostic test.
