I drive W221 S350CDI 2013 (62Reg) with 255bhp and 7G Plus gearbox.

When turning steering left-right at lower speeds (e.g. going around roundbaouts) I am hearing off whining noise from the steering. I have checked power steering fluid - it is up to required level. I am now wondering whether this is a problem with the pump or a belt running the pump? Could someone please help:
1. Does my car have hydraulic power steering pump or electric power steering pump?
2. Is it worth to start with the belt replacement?
3. Could you please provide part details for pump and belt required for my car?

Hi, my VIN is WDD2210262A522774
Could you please double-check the part for my car? I am particularly interested to understand what type of pump (hydraulic or electric) i will need to order.

Hi Konigstiger,
Thanks you very much for your help and responses. I am going forward to order a replacement pump and will get local MB Specialist to fit it in.

Do keep in mind that the fluid reservoir has a filter in it. If you are going to hang her pump, change the reservoir. Also, if the filter gets clogged it can make noise, as it happens with mine. It started off and a low moan/groan when turning at all speeds, until it was lit all the time. I was about to put a new pump in when my co-worker (who is a Master Tech) recommended replacing the reservoir first. I did...no noise.

Hi Kawagirl, Konigstiger.
I have not yet replaced the pump but the above recommendation regarding to the reservoir is making sense to me. Could you please advise what is the part number for reservoir on my car?
