wrong fluid

You have the wrong fluid, I had the same thing. I put some "synthetic PS fluid" in and it foamed up. You will have to park on a gravel road detach the return PS hose and aim it down as you poor cheap trani-fluid in until the new stuff comes out. Now top it up with new stuff with the hose back on.

Point hose down it will spray far. The smallest bit of regular PS fluid makes this fluid foam up. Oh replace PS filter, it's not hard.

You aren't suggesting to spray power steering fluid all over the ground on a gravel road are you? Because that would not only be highly irresponsible, but also highly illegal. I hope everyone would already know how bad this could be for plant and animal life not to mention groundwater. Petrolium products have no place being let loose all over the ground just because 'thats the easy way'.

Be sensible, put an extension on the return line and direct it into a suitable container.

Stock is MB conventional. I think a lot of folks run dextron ATF. I use the MB stuff which comes in a blue 1 litre plastic bottle.

Thanks LG.

Little off topic but,

just ran my car fast over a bump leaving a parking lot. cracked the oil pan. oil everywhere. parked in a parking garage. not sure what to do. just ordered the pan, gasket, plug, plug gasket, and needed the ps fluid to make it over $50 for free shipping... wish I could afford UPS Red.
