was wondering if ok to use reg or syn power steering fluid to top off resovoir instead of using Pentosin in metal can

Nope. Pentosin CHF 11s is the only approved power steering fluid.

ok i thought so...actually found some at Advance Auto Parts...19.99 liter lol

I guess you haven't priced the oil yet, huh? You'll need 9 quarts of Mobil 1 0w40 229.5 spec - it's usually about $7/qt unless you catch it on sale.
