What are the effects of overfilling the power steering fluid (oil)?

My fluid was low and in the process of adding more I slightly overfilled it (added to cold engine and overfilled to a level between cold and hot engine markings). Is this something that I need to be worried about. Do I need to siphon the additional fluid out or will it settle over time?

Any thoughts much appreciated.

Thanks!!

OK I don't think this will harm anything.
However, since you said it was a LITTLE overfilled.....why not remove it?
You can either use a Turkey Baster or a Bounty Towel and soak it up.

If it was me? I'd remove it. Because it would always be on my mind.
Taunting me...you know what I mean?

the only side effect of too much ps fluid is leakage. once the fluid gets hot it can force its way out of the resovoir (worse on ABC cars)

It made my steering harder. I just sucked the fluid to where it shows "hot" with turkey baster and it feels a lot better.
