Hello people,

I've been giving my 1990 W124 200E a good interior cleaning, to start I've took the passenger front seat out, cleaned it and the carpeting beneath and bolted it right in without any issue.

The issue is with the driver's seat, I couldn't get it to tilt upwards, when I use the buttons I hear the sound of the mechanism work but there is absolutely no movement up or down with it. Which unables me from unbolting the rear bolts that hold the seats in

What could be wrong? Is there a way to take out the seats without the mechanism?

It's like a speedometer cable that goes from the motor to the adjuster mechanism. They either strip out or back out of their seat.
That usually the problem.
The motors rarely fail. Cables fail often.
