I just got back from a 4 day trip down to Palm Springs so the car hasn't been started in a little while. I try not to let it sit for more that 2-3 days without at least being run or taken for a short spin. I started it today and did a once over on all the lights having just taken out the tail light lenses for cleaning as they were full of old built up grit. I noticed when I turned on the headlights the engine idle would slow down a bit and when I turned on the fogs it slowed down even more.

I've never really paid attention to this before so I'm wondering, is this normal or is it because the car has sat for a few days and the battery needs to charge a bit? The battery is brand new within the last few weeks as well as the cables. I have also noticed that the idle speed decreases when I turn on the fan. I find that I need to bring the idle up by turning the adjuster just slightly to compensate for the draw when the engine is cold.

Doesn't sound unusual. Check the output on the alt. with a multimeter.
