Everyone I know, knows M-B stands for Mercedes-Benz.

If your name seriously is "John Doe," your initials would be J.D, same as if your name was Roger Montcalm, they would be R.M.

Question is, if it isnt JDE or RMM, then where does the "Z" come from in MBZ? And why is it that only M-B has a "Z" in it and no one else is like that? Or am I missing something?

It's just an abbreviation, not really initials. I've also seen people abbreviate it as M-B and MB. I like MBZ because it's mentally more "pronounceable" when I see it in print.

Oh, BTW, I used to do some part-time teaching, and one of my favorite little "ice breakers" I'd use was, "Don't be afraid to ask questions! Remember, there is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid people who ask them." It usually took people a few seconds for that to register. :p
