I have one of these exact modules, they are produced by a member here on the board by the name of 'coupe'.

It's as advertised, although I have not permanantly installed my unit yet.

Yeah, it works.

I'd put money on it being better than the BergWerks module, but I've never actually used a BW module myself.

it looks...interesting, worth a try at least (at $15, and it's adjustable?!?) win/win situation there.

now i'm tempted to carry my laptop in the car at all times... woot! minor tuning! haha

Im not looking for lots of feedback, just info. I had thought berwerks were the only people who had made it. And i cant find their site. So when i saw another one i wondered if it was shunned for some reason. Coupe, do you really make these?

Thanks,

Austin

Just an aside, but having driven w/ a FGS in my black coupe the novelty wore off after about 2 weeks and unless I was seriously going for it I just left the car in 2nd. After said experience I'm really not all That hot for FGS anymore..it's nice on occasion but leaving it on all the time is just uncomfortable.

i think it'd be a great resource when pulling out into traffic. having the dead stop acceleration capablities is certainly worth it. and not to mention the obvious.. gotta be able to embarass the 'broseph' guys in the firebirds, camaros, mustangs, and vettes from the stop light. i'll certainly be purchasing one of these in the near future.

not to highjack, but any progress with the bumpsticks, jono?

It's also well worth it for the performance tracking abilities of this unit.

If FGS gets uncomfortable, turn it off! That's another big plus of this unit VS. Factory/BW.

Well, aside from running @ the strip you won't use 1st much :p I have a small switch setup off my my B circuit (need to decide where I want to mount it) but with a little poke I start in 1st. Thus far it has suited my particular needs:)

I just need to get a few sets in and I'll be able to offer them up..Going to make up a few for 500's/560's and one for a 420 on this first go around.

I'll let y'all know:)

Hey Greg...

You have a gen1 V8...you don't need an aftermarket module, your car has one already

There is a component down below the steering column on gen1 V8's which, with a simple rewire enables true first gear start, I have done this to mine and it really works
Apparently this device only features on gen1 V8's

Here is a thread on the subject of http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w12...s/1218236-first-gear-start.html?highlight=fgs which has posts by Talbir giving the details of the mod, I used his info to do it

It's a super simple mod to do
