plug wires and resistance question

Is it possible for spark plug wires and connectors to measure the correct resistance when cold but not when in use? I have an idle 'hiccup' that has gone away temporarily by replacing the plugs and now has gone away again by replacing plugs and wire/connectors. I was hoping the problem was the original wires (I think) on a 165k mile 1995 e320. But I have just measured resistance on the old wires and they all measured the same...2.09 +/- a few hundreths. Is it possible that the old wires were still bad even though resistance appears good when cold and off the car?
