Dear friends & members,

I would like to say enjoy your SL, your family, your friends, and all the thing you love because life is short...

Some of you guys may know I recently not posting often but still check out the forum everyday to make sure everything running smooth....

The reason for not posting that much is because I been having some health issue..... That going to effect me in the long term....

Right now I think about what I'm going to do with my life & how my life going to impact me in the future.... It to the point I may need to sell my SL.....

I always think this is a car that I would drive for the rest of my life... Until this type of health issue hit me....

Lucky I got a good wife, family, and friend who supports me during this rough time....

Just to get an idea what I have to face....^^^...

I been diagnosis with facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy syndrome......

There is no cure for this type of disease....

I been having a hard time getting out of the car, due to my weak back & my weak hip.... Lucky I still able to walk but not like a normal person would walk....

When come to driving I have no problem...

Right now I'm looking at many options to make my daily life easier & prepare for the worst case scenario... Hopefully my condition will be stable or improve....

My option is try my best to keep my SL....

Maybe raise my SL to an SLUV..... Will look funky.... Just in case you guys don't know what it mean Sport Light Utility Vehicle....lol...

Maybe a special seat that would turn out and raise....

Anyway it just an idea....

Or the worst case scenario is to sale the SL and get an SUV....

If anybody interesting in my SL you could PM me... Please don't post regarding sale questions here because it not a sale thread....

Please remember take good care of yourself, as long as you have a good health, you could do anything.....

Any advices or suggestions are welcome in this matter....

Thank you...

Best Regards,
Tony

Hey maybe you can still keep it! Would be nice to keep to even ride in shotgun!

My neighbor has ms and he gets around just fine! He talks to me only by writing on a note pad and paper now, but still goes to work and does his daily chores without help. You learn to adapt; you're resilient!

Well I must say this caught be completely by surprise and although I always try to enjoy the SL I will do so now. Even today it was my turn to bartend at my local social club and even though its not even 10 minutes away and its 45 degrees out I took my SL anyway to do exactly what you said Tony.

I hope somehow you are able to keep the SL, if not I am sure it will go to a good home as I have a feeling you won't sell it to just anyone.

I hope you take this challenge head on and enjoy living as best you can. You will be in my prayers my friend. Please come as much as possible because just as Tracy said you have so my R129 knowledge.

Good luck friend.

Tony, it makes me very sad to hear this news. You know we all love you here man, even if we have never met. I'm sure selling your SL will be no problem especially if you are referring to the Brabus.
I would suggest you hold off on making any rash decisions that you may regret though. I get a lot of pleasure just owning mine and I'm sure you would be able to get help maintaining it.
We need you to stay around here, I hope you get some better news soon.

Tony,

So sorry to hear the news. The fact that you so openly shared with your friends here on the forum shows the strength of some of these relationships. I only met you once at the Mercedes meet in Anaheim. Stay strong and don't make any rash decisions regarding your rides.

Hi Tony,
I'm really sorry to hear of your health issues, it rather puts into perspective worrying about whether to fit 17 or 18 inch wheels doesn't it? We have never met but you've always been a long distance friend and I've always appreciated your advise and wisdom, and your very up beat attitude. And that is what will get you through these difficult times, your attitude. You love your SL, it gives you pleasure, keep it if you can. Those huge r129 doors are a bonus to aid access, I'm sure the seat can be modified using the memory function to go back and up more than normal, like wise the steering wheel. There are many companies who will look at a swivelling seat conversion. But if at the end of the day, you have to make do with a Brabus version of a tank, that ain't so bad a problem to have.
I wish you well for the immediate future Tony, and I look forward to many more years of banter whatever forum you might be on.
Regards
Steve

Sorry to hear this Tony. Positive thinking and a lot of prayers. I haven't been around too much either lately. Busy with work and had a cancer scare with my girl that thank god turned out negative......holy shit that was a long week waiting for the results to come in. I can't stress it enough.....positive thinking and prayer. God knows I've been doing a lot of both lately. You are in my thoughts and prayers my friend. As much as we love these cars they are just that....cars. When life hits you stuff like this material belongings go out the window. Good luck with everything Tony and God bless.

Upset to hear this too especially of course relating to your concern about your car/s. Please don't rush into doing anything in a hurry there.

I too thank you for guidance and help recently.

I sustained a minor head injury this week and have felt unwell because of it. It is only when things happen we appreciate how vulnerable we can be. So, Tony you are right. We should all try to enjoy things as and when we can.

I hope and think there is surely great hope regarding your condition

My wife had a prediag of multiple schlerosis and was sent to a specialist in Nashville. Tests did not confirm it. She took her health into her own hands. Lost weight, eats better, seldom red meat, etc. She had surgery and still can't get in the S Class so the ML is her new friend. It sets up high enough where she can swing her legs in without pulling her abdomen. I think you'd be happy with a later model W164 or W166.

Tony,

Words can not describe the sadness I felt upon knowing your situation. I sincerely appreciate and understand your advise to "enjoy because life is short." I agreed and accepted your advise long ago because I've been in such situation that reminded me that life could end the very next minute. And every time I was given another chance it made life more meaningful.

Take it in stride and remember, a beautiful day always come after a darkest night.

My prayers are with you and if you need anything, I'm just a PM away.

Tony my friend, I am saddened by the news about your health, but I think a positive outlook is best for your emotional and physical healing. Save the decisions about your SL's for anther day when you know what life will bring you. No need to have a selling frenzy now, until you know more, and may be able to enjoy them longer. I will keep in touch with you, but for now, my friend, stay positive and strong.

Much Love & Respect,

Your Brother,

Joseph Anthony
