California w123 (and more) GTG, June 25 -- Pictures now Included!

Alright guys, lets get going planning this next CA GTG. I think the last two weekends of June would be the best and closest date that could work. I don't know what anyones summer plans are so the sooner everyone knows I guess the better.

So for anyone that may be interested in the California area, check to see if you would be open the weekends of June 17-18 and 24-25. Everyone should check back in so we can pick the date that would generate the largest turnout.

The last GTG was successful but I think we can do better. I have list of 30 or so California w123 members on this forum and others so as soon as those interested here post what would be best for them, I can send out emails to all on my list to see who would be interested.

I think the Pismo Beach area would be the most central location with the drive being about 3 and a half hours from both the SF Bay Area and the LA area. As with the last meet we will chat it up and check out all the cars, eat (I'm bringing a BBQ), cruise around the coast and P-Rex85 (Patrick) has a road we will probably check out. Everyone in the california area should really consider coming out. If you don't want to do a one day trip there is lots to do in the Pismo/ San Luis Obispo area and plenty of places to stay.

Right now you can could me and my brother in with 1 euro 300d and an 83 300d turbo. We need wagons and coupes and all the colors.

So everyone interested please respond so we can have yet another successful turnout. If you have any other date suggestions let us know, since we have time to plan we can make changes. Thanks.

The second weekend in june i will be in france watching congradulating audi on their diesel win. but the end of the month i would love to meet up! I am from Portland, Oregon. Dark blue 300td. I will let you know closer to the date if i will actually be able to make it.

I will bring my cameras again and the power cord with extra tapes so we can have lots of video if someone will host ....i dont want to lose quality if i dont have to.


Also hoping things go well i might have another turbo diesl to take this time or maybe the green girl again who knows.

dbtk, would you be willing to leave a few days earlier for the meet if it were on the 25th? I mean I suppose we could have a meet mid-week but I doubt that nearly as many would be able to attend. I suppose just keep us posted.

Patrick, will your brother be coming as well?

I would like to send messages out to my list of members on this forum and others. So far I up to 50 members and 55+ cars. I think getting 15-20 cars is very possible! So are sunday's best for everyone? If so should it be the 18th or 25th? Should I just send out messages asking the other members what would be better for them? In any case we will be well prepared for this next meet.

We could do the DIY thing at the third GTG if you guys plan another one after that.

I will definitely be there. Pismo is much closer than Cambria and the parking lot was much bigger although that may get filled up by a lot of beachgoers. Perhaps there are other locations in Pismo that we can go to with ample parking.

Will this be a W123 meet or bring what you've got event?

Patrick, another meet will definitely have to be set up when you return.

I suppose the 21st of may could work for me but I would kind of prefer to do it after school is out because I am going to be pretty swamped the last few weeks of may and early june especially.

So as soon as we decide june or may I will be sending out emails to the w123 owners of california on this forum and others. (My list is up to 55 people) With more notice I think more people will be able to show up. So what is the general consent, May or June?

Include me if it is on the weekend of June 8-11th or July 1-2nd. I have to be in Southern Cal both those weekends and would consider driving. June 8-11th is the Mercedes Lode Fest for m-100s at the MB Classic Center in Irvine. Could be a cook place to meet and check out the facilities.

So are those the only weekends you could make dbtk? I know already I will be pretty darn busy that weekend in june and the first week of july I plan on driving through Yosemite to Mammoth (anyone here ski or snowboard?)

Boardmonger, bummer on the dates. If I drive my CD down I will try to catch up with the SoCal 123s. Otherwise, I may take my TT since I will be meeting my bro from CT there and he has been wanting to drive it.
