Thanks for the favourable comments, it has cleaned up well after spending many weekends after I purchased it giving it a thorough detail. The underside is yet to be detailed and the engine bay has only received a quick clean so far. Our concours class winning 300TE which is also white is even cleaner.

I haven't got any interior pics of either car. I will have to take some and post them. Especially of the 190E since it has a different interior to standard being a Sportline.

A 2.6 Sportline manual has got to be rare! I have been trying to find out how rare my 2.3 Sportline manual is. I have found out from an owner of a 2.6 Sportline automatic that there were only 15 190E Sportlines brought to Australia. I believe that mine may be the only manual Sportline here (in any engine size). My search so far has not revealed any 2.3 Sportline manuals elsewhere either. I started a rare car thread here in the General MB section but it did not take off. On another forum it has been going well see:

Regarding your Sportline, obviously being later than mine it got coloured mirrors. I also noticed it has 8 hole alloys. I didn't know they were ever fitted, are they original? If so I would be interested to know the size and part number (I keep a list of these sort of things for future reference). The (original factory) 15 hole alloys on mine are 7J x 15H2 ET44 (2014001302) with 205/55R15 tyres. I think they are the same as were originally fitted to the 2.3-16. I also notice that yours does not have the rear spoiler. I always thought that was standard but obviously not.

Re your question concerning gear ratios, I'll see if I have info on that. It may be that the ratios are the same as my 2.3 with possibly a different rear axle ratio. At 120km/h (75mph) in fifth mine is turning at 3000rpm.

I have a question.The rims in Greyfax's red car, do they come only in 93 sportline models? Is there a place where i can get those? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Those are probably the same 8-hole wheels as were fitted to the late W124s. They were available in a 6.5" x 15" ET44 which would fit the W201 nicely with either 195/60R15 or 205/55R15 tyres. I don't know if 7" x 15" versions of the 8-hole wheels were manufactured. The 7" x 15" Sportline versions of the 15-hole wheels had an offset of ET44 for the W201 (with a 205/55R15) and ET41 for the W124 (with a 205/60R15).
