Yes, the Boring Posts Continue.

Here we have Transfer Case Oil Change.

WIS Specifies 60,000 Mile Change. I'm doing it a bit early at 50,000.

It should be changed, like most oils, in a "warmed up state".

I included BOTH the W463 AND W460 for comparison's sake.

Please note, the Redline is NOT a Specified fluid. I am using other forum members' experience with this Product.

Also see my "Redline Warning" Post, so you don't make any "Boo-Boo's".

I included the "Recommended" Service Sheet for the VG150E Transfer Case.

whats the part number for the synthetic fluid from benz? that would be very helpfull my parts guys cant find it
It depends on which model of Transfer case you have.

On the 463, it will be either sheet 235.10 or 235.11 Please verify your T/C version.

235.10

Mercedes-Benz Betriebsstoff-Vorschriften: Motoröl, Getriebeöl, ATF, Kühlmittel, Bremsflüssigkeiten

235.11
Mercedes-Benz Specifications for Operating Fluids: Engine Oil, Gear Oil, ATF, Coolant, Brakefluid

The problem is, the material is VERY difficult to obtain, and Horribly EXPENSIVE. If you are outside the USA, you might have other options, as you can see... but Here, Stateside? Forget it!!

G-AMG, thank you again brother!

Followed your instructions and they were perfect. I’d only add that my 2002 G500 took more than three bottles of the Redline.

I realise the original post is 14 years' old but the information remains bang up to date and was everything I needed to change the fluid in my transfer case today. Thank you. For info, I used Fuchs Titan Syncro Race 75w-90, a fully synthetic GL4 spec fluid intended for heavy duty use. Small quantities of the 235.10 spec fluid are not readily available in Europe, either; 235.10 fluids are usually used in trucks it seems. I also used a giant syringe to get the fluid into the box, having warmed it through by standing the sealed bottles in hot water for 10 minutes beforehand.
