Greets.

Again, another Simple Post, just to remind us of service intervals.

WIS specifies "Every Two Years" to check and refill. I actually check mine more frequently, around once a year.

PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS FOR W460! THE PROCEDURE IS THE SAME FOR W463, EXCEPT THE PLUG HAS A 14mm INHEX FITTING.

Use clear or light colored grease. It's primary purpose is to lube the swivel seal. If (when) the CV boot breaks it quickly spins the grease out and physics won't let the axle ball grease back in. The clear grease lets you differentiate between smears of clear axle grease (normal) and the dark CV grease (Abby Normal). Without that early warning you wind up waiting until the CV is ruined.
