Specified Interval is 4 Years/ 40,000 Miles

Being used to the "pain" of the Multi-Valve/Multi Plug, M112 and M113 engines, in their awkward locations within TIGHT engine bays,

the M111.961 was a TRUE JOY, and Laughably Easy Job to do.

Of course, the ignition must be off.

The WIS specified "removing the coil packs", but I don't have the slightest idea WHY. Unplug wires, and snap back on after new plug. DONE!

Replace the Air Intake Ducting as Final Step.

I was reviewing this DIY for the spark plugs. Why is the intake being removed to do the spark plug job?

I really need to sit down and look at my engine. ugh. I'm too w201 trained. :)

Air Tube

Redhope,

The air intake tube crosses over the cover for the Sparky plugs on that model whiich I think was a 220. Yours is newer and may be different. That G-AMG sure did a nice job on all those threads!

Good Luck!

C as in 220

Another thing that seems may be different is the coil situation. At least on the newer cars, you are going to have coils sitting on top of two of the plug connectors.

Not quite sure, but it "COULD" be some residual engine preservative A 000 986 72 70 which is applied at Sindelfingen.

mine had the same stuff on it. i believe it was engine preservation, but it looked ugly, so i scraped off what i could and then attempted to polish it up a bit and then used some wax on it, to coat it from the elements. my plastic and everything had that coating on it. looks much better now with it off.

C-220 Spark Plug Change

Thank you C-AMG for the photos, i owe you a big beer if i ever see you. The procedure went well. The wires might be a bit hard to pull off the plugs but they will come, no twisting necessary. There is a wire that is clipped on the back of the airhose, it can be missed, so make sure to unclip it. Thanks again:bowdown:
