Greets.

Well, after quite a scary discovery, I needed to change the "Inner" Seatbelt "Anchor" on my wife's car (where the Seat Belt Buckle "Clicks" into).

Driving it into work at 3am, I buckled the seatbelt but had a "less than 'crisp' " clicking of the buckle. No Seatbelt warning, but I noticed the "comfort" feature (where the belt automatically tensions against your chest) was also not working correctly.

Well getting out of the car, I leaned forward and "POP", the seatbelt came out all on it's own!!

After several tests, I found the belt wasn't even fastening... YIKES!!

I immediately grounded the car, and did the following repair.

I hope this helps someone.

Cheers,
G

Is there any chance of having the SRS light coming ON if I try to remove the seat and the belt buckle to replace the buckle with a new/used one?

Can the buckle be dis-assembled for repair while in the car with out triggering the SRS light?
Do I have to disconnect the battery or just have the key out of the ignition is enough?
