Again, my Interval for this Job is a bit Premature, compared to the Specified change interval.
For me, I like to do everything at a 50,000 mile Schedule... Easier for me to Remember!!!

As you can see, the Filter is a bit dirty, even at 50k Miles.

Be sure the Filter is well sealed in the Lid, prior to Re-Install. Also, don't Over-Tighten the Screws, as they are solely anchored in Plastic.

Great write up as always G! Did the change today!
Thanks

Thanks, but now I know why I don't do this. I do it in my Asian cars though.
Why is MB so complicated compared to other vehicles? Is a German thing?

to me these are the easiest air filter to change. have you looked under the hood of some domestic cars lately. they are more of a PITA to change than these are.

G, this is the first time I am seeing anything about needing lube when reinstalling the air filter assembly. Can you tell me what kind it is or would my local dealers parts counter know? Also does the lube step apply to a diesel? My e350 bluetech has the filters in a slightly different housing.
Oh...
and a HUGE THANK YOU! For your amazing write ups.
On My bottle it is translated to rubber assembly aid, but the MB part number is rubbed off.

I will check with the parts dept on Tues. I am not in town on Monday.

Do you know how to change the engine air filters on a 2014 GL 450 V8?
Wrong board. Go to gl450 board. Plus this air filter this guy is showing is from the motor from 7 years ago and is not current.
It looks nothing like my 2013 E350
Those photos look like they are for the M272 engine, which was used on the 2011 E350. I recognize it because my 2007 C350 has the M272; my 2014 E350 has the M276 engine.
