You do not actually need to have a original Mercedes phone. I have Nokia CARK112 bluetooth car kit in my 98 CLK. You can connect the Nokia kit to the exsisting wiring and voilá, wherever you bring your handset into the car, it connects automatically to the carkit without any wires. Even if the phone is in your pocket! And you do not need to have any ugly-looking cables or cradle in your car. You have a nice button for answering and adjusting volume, and a mic hidden somewhere. And you do not have to change the carkit even if you change phones. CARK112 works practically with all bluetooth handsets.
