Periodically I hear a static like noise when listening to either the radio or CD's in my car. It is not constant, and is not like static when listening to a station, more like an electronic static coming from the sound system. Has anyone else experienced this with the fiber optic system, and if so, how did the problem get resolved? Thanks for any help and advice.

Such static can sometimes be caused by loose fiber optic connections, or a fiber optic (orange or yellow) lead (wire) being bent at too small a radius. You can use the phone bulletin on Paul Dick's website (Phone Bulletins) to help you locate equipment and check both. The first places to check would be at the CDC and at your head unit, but it could come from just about any source on the fiber loop.

Alternatively, it could come from a malfunction in an electronic component. Repair or replacement would be the options.
