I have to ask a question cause my wife's 2006 R350 seems alittle sluggish and I want to get it ECU chipped. (ps I know this is the w164 forum but I own an 2007 ml500 and I know that the ml and r share the same engine). I use to have a chip in two of my cars. One was a vw 2001 passat turbo which was awesome it was so more reactive . My wife wants to keep the car so upgrading is out of the question . These are the products I am looking at:

Powerchip Performance Software Tuning for BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi, Porsche

JET Performance Products, Import & Domestic Performance, Performance Kits, Fuel Systems, Transmissions

These two sites seem shady and somewhat b.s

Stage 1 Performance Chip

Mercedes R Class Performance Chips - Amazing Mercedes R Class Chips

No so-called performance chip will make any detectable difference to a naturally aspirated engine. They can make a difference to a turbocharged engine simply by allowing higher boost. Good luck with the repair bill if anything happens to the engine.

I decided to go with a sprint booster instead . I read alittle reviews and it seems like a really good investment. Thanks Roadrutz, I figured that it was bs but want to ask the forum.
