Probably was just a matter of time. The bubble is not as airtight as it is maybe thought to be. Or at least wanted to be. Just like in quite a few other sports that are working on getting their seasons restarted.

Hope Perez can be back soon. But having to isolate 10 days, he'll miss at least both Silverstone races.

Will the seat be filled by Mercedes reserve driver Esteban Gutierrez, or Stoffel Vandoorne? Vandoorne is supposed to start in Formula E's final saison race in Berlin.
Right now DeGrassi is in 5th and Vandoorne in 6th both with 38 points.
Otherwise, Mercedes powered Williams has quite a staple of third and reserve drivers in
Jack Aitken
Roy Nissany
Dan Ticktum
Jamie Chadwick

Or they could just call up the Hulk in nearby Germany.

Mercedes and Racing point have only the same 2 drivers under contract, Gutierrez and Vandoorne.
A rush to contract additional third / reserve drivers will likely be the knee jerk reaction of most teams, especially Mercedes and Racing Point.

MB definitely has plenty to choose from and I don’t think Racing Point has any say in it. LOL!

Ha, I should have played the lottery...

Hulkenberg replaces Perez at Racing Point for F1 British GP

All very interesting. Not sure what Perez thinking. I understand the desire to visit an injured parent,
but traveling to the North American continent is risky business.
