I believe my problem only occurs when I mash the throttle pedal to the floor and depress the button on the floor board. At this time, I need to do a key on, key off to reset. I have a replacement position sensor (that mounts inside the engine compartment, not pedal assy) as it appears as though this is supposed to be the fix according to the forum searches. However, I don't understand it. Why does depressing that button, cause the sensor to miss-read or create the problem? What is the purpose of this button? Thanks. Chad

That part is the kick down switch - on all automatics, it forces a downchange & allows max revs to build before next downchange if it remains depressed.
