it may prove helpful if you gave folks an idea what part of the vehicle wears
this part, function etc. otherwise, just posting a pic w/no context can be
a crap shoot

Wow. Looks like ET poking his head out of space ship.

There are hundreds of clips like that on any car.

$100 into your paypal account if you can indentify this part. Part number and application! 12hours!

Why did you feel the need to leave out this information in your initial post? It seems like that would have been useful to know.

Anyhow, I spent some time digging through the EPC and came up with nothing.

The EPC people apparently think Mercedes-Benz delivers the cars with bare metal body shells, and the terminology used to describe the groups of parts in the catalog is creative, to say the least.

Can you give a more exact location as to where the clip is used? How about a photo showing exactly where it goes on the car?

Mario,
your part does not look like the one in TF's photo at all. folks are really
being patient trying to work with you on this. I must give them a lot of
credit for their patience here.

did you avail yourself of either of the part diagrams engines provided you
earlier in the thread?

did you use them to isolate your year and model?

did you try to zero in on the particular clip....which, if you studied the diagrams,
have variations-on-a-theme depending on which part of the skirt is being secured....
each using a different part #. the parts diagrams includes the part numbers.

then, with the # in hand, you use Google, call your dealer, try any of the forum
sponsors listed at the front page of these forums.

if you attempt to identify based simply on a photo w/o attempting to verify
that it is used for your model/year, you're taking a bit of a gamble

if you walk into a dealer, they have all this up on their computer screen. you
can simply tell them year, model, and side skirt. they pull it up and see if
they have the clips in stock. you may even be able to compare what they
bring out with the one in your hand.

Exactly! Much easier than trying to figure out on the internet what that is and where to get it.
